Baby Food Avocados

Avocados are very nutritious fruit, it can be served in very appealing and delicious ways.

Avocados provide nearly 20 essential nutrients, including fiber, potassium, Vitamin E, B-vitamins and folic acid. They also act as a “nutrient booster” by enabling the body to absorb more fat-soluble nutrients, such as alpha and beta-carotene and lutein, in foods that are eaten with the fruit.

Ingredients:

  1. 2 to 3 spoons of meshed Avocado.
  2. 1 piece of sliced bread.

 

Method:

  1. You may toast the slice of bread if your kid prefers toasted bread.
  2. Spread the meshed Avocado on the slice of bread.
  3. Serve this sandwich with his/her favorite drink.

Tips:

  1.  The recipe below is fit for babies over six months of age.
  2. Avocados are better than cheese or butter 🙂

Fried Potatoes in cheese

Ingredients:

  1. 3 potatoes
  2. 3 tbsp oil
  3. Salt
  4. Garlic paste
  5. Onion 1/2
  6. Cheese (1/2 to 1 cup grated)
  7. Sarso 1/2 tsp
  8. Jeera 1/4 tsp
  9. Methi 4 – 6 seeds

Method:

  1. Use a peeler to peel off a thin layer of potato skin.
  2. Wash potato and cut it into small cubes (approximately 1 cm cubes).
  3. Heat oil and add methi stirr. After few seconds add sarso,  jeera, onion and garlic.
  4. When garlic and onion is light brown, add the potatoes and salt.
  5. When potatoes are tender add cheese and simmer for a few minutes.
  6. Serve with food. Will be yummy with roti.

Baked Beans and Cheese Sandwiches

Ingredients:

  1. Baked Beans 250g
  2. Cheese 250g
  3. Sliced Bread
  4. Butter 50g

Method:

  1. Butter the sliced bread.
  2. Use a grater to grate cheese.
  3. Put the buttered bread in sandwich maker. Buttered side should be facing the sandwich maker.
  4. Spread grated cheese on the bread.
  5. Top up the bread and cheese with baked beans. Add 1 or 2 tablespoons of baked beans to each sandwich.
  6. Cover up the baked beans with another piece of sliced bread.
  7. Close the lid of sandwich maker and cook the sandwich till brown and crispy.
  8. Serve hot with drinks and/ other food.

Tips:

  1. Baked beans and cheese sandwich is a very good snack food.
  2. You can either butter both sides of the sliced bread or on side. If it is 1 side than face the buttered side towards the sandwich maker, not the inside of sandwich.
